Good to Know Before You Go
FULLY ACCESSIBLE
The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities. If you have specific accessibility needs, feel free to call ahead and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
PLAN FOR ABOUT AN HOUR
Most visitors spend 45 minutes to an hour exploring the exhibits — longer if you get deep into the photo archives or the Discovery Center.
DON'T MISS THE WORLD RECORD KING SALMON
At 126½ pounds, it’s the crown jewel of our fishery and cannery exhibit — and one of the most photographed things in Petersburg.
STOP BY THE MUSEUM GIFT SHOP
Books, local handicrafts, jewelry, and souvenirs — all available during your visit. Members receive 10% off non-consignment items.
GETTING TO PETERSBURG
Petersburg is accessible by air via Petersburg James A. Johnson Airport (PSG), approximately 1 mile from the museum. The Alaska Marine Highway ferry terminal is approximately 1.5 miles from town.
